hello . im looking for help in determining what is happening with my 1986 F350 flat deck dump dually one ton. does anyone on here own one of these or have experience with driving one. it has a 6.9 liter diesel and a c6 auto 3 speed transmission.
the problem is very slow acceleration from start . almost seems like its slipping and it revs up high and wont shift up till i take my foot off the gas pedal. it shifts as soon as i back off a little on fuel.
same thing happens from second up to drive and it seems like i have to always keep my foot into the throttle to keep it at speed once im up to 60 kilometers or more. almost like something is holding it back.
its got good clean fluid and is topped up to proper amount. it has a new vacume modulator with a green stripe. hoses look ok.
anybody have any experience with this issue. i dont have a tach. but i can tell the sound of high revving .
also im aware of a valve up by the pump but the only plastic valve with 2 hoses coming off ot is attached to tge top of the throttle position sensor.
thanks for reading any help would be greatly apprecuated
