Mobile communications operator MTS Ukraine, a 100% subsidiary of Mobile TeleSystems OJSC, announced the completion of testing of its data transmission services, which was conducted as part of the operator's network preparation for EURO-2012. From the beginning of October 2011, MTS technicians conducted large-scale tests of mobile Internet access services using EDGE/GPRS technology in the operator's network. In total, more than 2,000 different tests were conducted using a geographically distributed quality measurement system (SITE Sigos). 23 cities of Ukraine became the testing ground. Systems simulating subscriber actions were used as test equipment.
Testing was carried out in the coverage areas of various MTS base Costa Rica Mobile Number List stations and at different times of the day, while the program downloaded various types of Internet content. During the tests, quality indicators of the service were measured, including download speed and availability of connection channels. According to the measurement results, the average actual speed of data transfer towards the subscriber is 80-120 kbit/s.
